Over the years, while I transfer from one location to another, whether in this country or abroad, I realized life is always giving me lessons. Some, I put to heart, some I brushed aside so I can stumble into them later.
I do not underestimate the power of these simple quotes because for others they are mere words but for me, they are life lessons. I’m sharing them to you because you might one day find yourselves in the crossroads and might need some words of wisdom too.. If you want me to hear you let me know, I’ll try my best to impart some wisdom.. although to warn you and to be honest, I am still learning in this road called life.. aren’t we all are?
Quote 1. True leaders don’t create followers, they create more leaders.
I attribute this to my life mentors. Despite possessing such wisdom, they still make me feel empowered and valued. So I do these to young people too. We don’t need to raise sheeps, but we can raise gentle young peace loving people capable of using their brains.
Quote 2. The Real value of wealth is how much you are worth if you lost all your money.
I have experience being down several times to the point that I felt no one is there to reach out to my hand.. specially when I was at the peak of my career. I have money but I still feel lost and lonely.
I also have experience being down with almost nothing, yet gentle people have adopted me like their own.. to think that I’m referring to seemingly poor families. Life is such great irony.
Quote 3. Successful people build each other up. They motivate, inspire, and push each other up. Unsuccessful people just hate, blame and complain.
Sometimes there are always negativity around… sometimes I’m also being negative to myself and to people around me.. so I remind myself of this one too.
Quote 4. We cannot control the wind but we can direct the sail.
Despite the circumstances, there is also the power of choice. When misfortunes came my way, I didn’t sulk… well yes sometimes.. but I tried to figure out how to overcome them.. I’m still in the process to be honest.. but I choose not to be taken by the wind of misery and focus my energies to sail to the brighter side of life.
Quote 5. Remember that sometimes, not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck.
I had a lot of wishes in my life but somehow they were not granted… example, the trip to the other side of the world is still pending.. but because of that, my travel bug has been cured! I learned to love the present moment.. I don’t grow envy about people’s travels anymore.. although of course I still would like to travel.
Slowly but surely, I feel the universe is conspiring.. I also know that the universe cannot wait for me to discover how beautiful the world is.. so have patience dear Universe, I’m getting there ^_^
Quote 6. Life is short, don’t make it shorter.
Quote 7. I give not because I have many but because I exactly know how it feels to have nothing.
During my travels, I met many generous souls… and a startling experience is that some are actually not rich in money.. I know, it’s life’s irony.
Quote 8. If you can’t handle me at my worst, you don’t deserve me at my best.
Quote 9. Blessed are the weird people, poets, misfits, writers, mystics, painters, troubadors.. For they teach us to see the world through different eyes.
Quote 10. Choose a job that you love and you will never have to work a single day of your life.
