Really travelers should go to other places in Nepal other than Kathmandu and Pokhara, you never know what hidden paradise or art you’ll discover once you’re there.

Bhaktapur is actually home to UNESCO World Heritage sites including Bhaktapur Durbar Square and the oldest Hindu temple in Nepal, Changu Narayan Temple. Imagine being transported to time when you’re there.. specially that it’s not as crowded and busy as compare to Kathmandu which is only around 2 hours away.

  8. What a wonderful gift you are giving! I suddenly am planning to visit Nepal in May. Although I have wanted to travel to Nepal since adolescence, I now feel an urgent calling and a trust that I can do it. Ideally I will spend the first part of my visit learning at Kopan Monastery. After which it would be such a treat to receive a free stay in Bhaktapur to visit the oldest temple in Nepal. I look forward to learning from those in the community to understand the history and sentiment of the Hindu people and their teachings. Also, I would like to stay at this particular guesthouse. I have recently started following The Unconvetional Tourist and very much would like to meet the woman helping travelers discover Nepal while educating them and giving back to the local people. Cheers to both of you!

  10. Next month I have a long holidays 7 days.I decide to go trekking to Jomson after I saw one beautiful picture and I hope I will get the great view so I will fly to Jomson via air and walk back to Beni.
I love both advanture and culture so after trekking I have one night and hafe day before flying back to Thailand. I do not like busy town so I have to choose between Patan and Baktrapur .
I find many information how different between 2 towns..Both are old town and have many fantasic palaces , temples .

But the word that beat Patan is … Baktrapur is a live mesuem…
